hello all,
cant resist poking my snout in here, the 30 was a good sized robust excavator, there was an option with the engines, you could have a ruston 5 yen or an english electric 6 ydax, when i first saw a 30 i was fascinated how the rotor-seals delivered air into the inside clutches, only one downside there were no actual digging locks fitted on them, reliance for locking and spragging were those troublesome brake bands which always got covered in grease and suchlike, happy days or what ;) .

I don't know Graham, The pic. certainly could have been taken at Vaynor.

As for the brakes ,your quite right.
On the other hand the digging locks on the other RBs worked OK as digging locks, but werent any help on a down hill run.
They dropped in nicely to stop you running back when climbing, but if the sliding clutches or linkages underneath were worn and jumped out of drive when traveling down hill  you'd be away and nothing to stop you.  :o :o
!9s and 22s must be the fastest things on tracks :!: :!:
One that got away passed me doing 40 mph.  The driver had baled out, clean underpants job.
Happy days ;)

Hi,
Heres an odd ball. An 11RB on an Atkinson chasis.
I dont suppose they made many of these?
Atkinson made carriers for Rapier and Jones Cranes too.

A 10-RBT(license built in Sweden by the firm Tornborg&Lundberg) was shown this summer with the Skimmer attachment.
Certainly very fascinating to watch!

This beautiful 22-R&B loaded quite a few yards at the open house in Skyttorp last summer.
