Nick Drew Excavators

Post #1 by Nick Drew » Tue Jul 10, 2007 10:16 pm

Here are some shots of my machines when I ran my own business from 1997-2001,

Things went very well for the first 2.5 yrs then one of our customers went bust owing us 16k and sadly dragged us under with them.

I am just about (fingers crossed) about to buy another machine and start up again, but I have learnt my lesson from last time and will only be sticking to one machine !!

Hi Nick,

Its a real bu99er when these firms just simply close their books just to clear the debts & then suddenly start up again!

Anyway, I wish you the very best with the new venture....theres always a demand for good machine operators.

Nice pics. Some nice clean, well looked after kit. I like the livery as well.

Shocking when companys go pop and take other outfits with them. Crouch mining buried a few companys when they went bust. :x

Who done all the maintenance and repair work on your equipment?

What machine are you thinking of buying (VOLVO) :?: :?:

Good luck on the new venture and keep us up to date with the progress ... 8-)

Ross

Hi Ross,

I used to do all my basic servicing, but for anything technical I used to bring in outside contractors which as you know are not cheap!!

On the machine front I am still undecided, I have had quotes for a Komatsu PC138-8, Case CX130, and a Takeuchi TB180FR

With my current customer the Takeuchi 8Ton machine is looking favourite but I need to make sure he has enough work for it first.

Nick
