Martyn

Is that still at work or is it one of Barry's collection ? Be a good classic machine to take to a show paired with a DJB/Cat ADT

First 'quality' model I bought was of a Cat 245 from Bowmakers at Clay Cross

I think it would cost a fortune to take to shows. Many years ago I was asked to find out about a Cat 983 that was out of use at a Quarry in Dorset. The chap I bought my D4 off gave me the phone number of the boss at Glendenning. He told me that that 983 was now up for sale but had some engine issues.I passed all this info on to the chap that was looking for one. This machine has now ended up in the S E Davies collection and not shipped abroad for parts. Its great to see these larger, older machines put back into good order and put to work again.

Yes i dont think id like to fill up that low loader at the Local BP. Needs a quarry co to sponsor it to go to a show as PR.

The old ACMOC show at Rugby Cement was good day out to see big plant - Pity it stopped & I've lost my photos from the one i attended. I missed going to other as CP&M usually mention events 6 month + in advance and then just show the photos the month after when every bodies missed it. They have the Auction guide but dont bother with a decent show guide just the little editorial bits in news section

Is the Cat 983 the one SE Davis take to shows (link below at East Mids Plant Working day 2011) or is it another 'spare' machine?
