Track Machines

I'm thinking of buying an old track machine for yard work. Something in the weight range of 13 -16 ton. The big possibility is an 805B non turbo machine or a 580C. What I would really love is a 6C or 6D. The most important criteria though is lifting capacity. What tonnage could these machines lift?

Anorak points ahoy :D 6C/6D 33cwt at full reach. Tear out due to dipper 15,400 lbs. Tear out due to crowd
14,800lbs. If I could find one William and had the room (and the money) I'd go for a 7B  Mark

Well it's a one ton lift max for a Hymac 580C and although a JCB 7B would be a lovely machine to own I think you would find one hard to come by, you may find a 6C or a 6D but you realistically have more chance of coming across a half decent Hymac 580C. :geek:

Jeremy that one ton lift on the 580c is that the safe working load? the SWL on all rubber tyre diggers is one ton but my 3Dmk3's lift 2 ton with a 13ft long jib attachment and i have a 3Dmk2 and it lifts until the tyres burst. I lifted a JCB 3c from the back clear from the ground but at the expense of one of my front 12.5 by 18's. I reckon that would equated to a 3.3 ton lift.

Mark, im off to convert cwt to kg's.

Yes I believe that is the SWL but it would not lift much more.

Mark, by my reckoning thats a 1.65 ton lift at full reach. What do you think it would lift with the boom at short setting and the dipper in?

I have no idea William, but I bet it would pick up one of your 3D's  so 6-7 ton maybe? Someone here will know for sure though. Mark

6 to 7 ton would be brilliant that would tick the box alright.
