Is this the ex machine of AMEC Mining (then ONYX). It sat on site for a long long time and then in the yard for a while??

Yes, this the machine that initially went new to house of water occs for Amec, then went to Muirkirk for Onyx, after Wakefield I understand it went to Ghana.
The extra plate on front of the stick was designed and fitted by Liebherr Bathgate (to stop overfill material jamming between stick and bucket and causing stick cracks).

Thanks for that Martyn,
I've been involved with plant for a long time and worked with Liebherr for twenty two years in the earthmoving service division, from service engineer to service manager, however must admit to having soft spot for motorscrapers after having worked on them in eighties (TS 24s) with Balfour Beatty
