Re: Caterpillar 315D???
in todays climate it would be best to keep focused on having a job regardless of what machine it is
i am no fan of the case ,but thats what i am paid to use
i raise the problems with it and if and when trade in time comes i have a say then i will say my piece
if i got another case then so be it ,
its paying the bills and thats what matters the most
the only way to find out what one is like is to have your backside in the seat ,no matter what anyone else tells you one is like

knowing less and less about more and more until pretty soon i will know almost nothing about practically everything

Re: Caterpillar 315D???
When the JS machines were 100% Sumitomo based machines they were good and almost bomb proof but since the split and the subsequent input from JCB they are not what they were.
Cheap rams sourced from Sweden I believe and the entire track frame is made in Italy and can be of suspect build quality
I have operated the old chunky 807, 805B turbo, 814 super, and JS130, 200 & 220.

Re: Caterpillar 315D???
Arent the undercarriage's the same ones as used on the new Komatsu's? Im sure i read in earthmovers that they were. We've had no end of problems with one of our 160's but it must have had jcb worried as JCB replaced the whole machine. Apparently the replacement is a good tool. 4 ocyl engine and will pull almost anything out of the ground.
