Great to see how they build these massive machines on site, I wouldnt think there are many people who get to see this kind of thing in real life :dizzy:

Ray,

Great photos! I did not know that the carbodies were pressurized! How do they isolate the radiators and fans from the rest of the works? It seems strange to me that after over forty years; hydraulic lines and couplings still fail frequently, and that nobody has synthesized a non-flammable hydraulic fluid.

I was really surprised to see the crawler tracks in blue color (anodized?) and am curious as to why? Bucyrus delivers their 495s with red anodized crawler shoes. Heres a photo;
