I have been busy today helping Julian Carder to take a few bits off an old 580BT that is no longer a runner and has long since seen her last working days, the farm the machine is on is in the process of being cleared.
I had a few parts myself but today we got the engine lifted out which Julian purchased from the vendor, always sad to see an old machine go but this one was truly beyond working again. I had the cross-line relief valves, the dashboard along with a few other odds and ends, she has good tracks which Julian is going back for, I may go along and help just have to see if I have the time.
One interesting thing was a badge on the cab which says "Arnold Plant Sales" this company still exists today and if memory serves me correctly Chas Penn's bought their Hymac 880 off this same company back around 1976.

Well it is finished at last :claphands: Tony Flint has finally completed the restoration of the Hymac 480 and what a beauty she is  I went along today to get some snaps; here's just a few, I may upload some YouTube footage of the machine.

Yes Pete I got a go in this machine at the Chipping Steam Fair before its restoration but you get used to the controls they're 'push-pull' levers, she's got the earlier 6 cylinder Ford engine in her the one where the injection pump is driven off a shaft from the timing casing, I forget the model number now.
