No Pete the dipper is a standard long arm dipper although it is a later style dipper and the flat navvy pad undercarriage was standard on these machines.

I don't know Pete, the dipper looks long as its' possible it could be from late 580c, the boom looks like a Heath Robinson affair,it is curved, the tracks look ok for a 580 ... over to you Jeremy

Spot on Martyn its the boom! The boom on this machine is the banana shaped boom that was fitted to early 480 machines. The tracks and drive tumblers are spot on with no wear which is unusual for this type of machine but making it a viable rebuild project.

Only just seen this post, been busy! Looks an interesting machine! Any history known of it? I did spot the boom!, looks an early 580 and I'm envious of the tracks!!! Good find, I'm sure flint services will make a good job of it!

It's been roaming around the Derbyshire fields near me Jeremy, it's currently in a field near Ogstan Resevoir higham in Derbyshire! My not sure how long it will be there but I'm sure I'll be seeing it around! It looks very well taken care of!
