Hymac Excavators

Well I like also Hymac but I think there are some like Bobcat which are really nice as well, I saw in this website: http://trademachines.com/excavators?category=excavators some few of them but I was looking for Hymac excavators and didnt find, could you recommend me a site or place to look for them??

Hi to everyone on here, my name is Sean Callaghan And i have read all your posts with great interest .
I have a few pictures of my own that I will post of our Hymac 580bt which has been in the family since at least 1971,it was the first machine my father bought and when it finished life on the building sites around London some 28 years ago he sent it back to the family farm in Donegal Ireland where my uncle used it. 9 years ago it stopped working while on a very exposed hillside and that's where it lay till now, the elements have not been kind!!
I have decided to restore the old girl and after a few long days got her started and shipped back to London (Barnet).
Will keep you updated!

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help.. I am trying to find out a name and contact phone number for the chap who owns the Butser Hill Limeworks Pit nr Petersfield.

A team here in the South West are keen to purchase the old Hymac 690 that is lying in the pit for a restoration project. But so far we have had no joy in finding a phone number.

Please help us save this rare classic

hi Nick any luck on the hymac,i was there tying to buy the old scammell routeman a few years back then the kids set fire to it. the hymac is straight as a die.apparently the man who owns it isn`t very friendly i couldn`t find any details on him. it would be a hard place to get the machine out off

Thanks for those Craig particularly the 580C in the Superman movie; does anybody know which country that scene was shot in? I ask because the cars in the background pictures look to be of American design so the 580C in the states would be rare?

It is a question that I had because yard also contains a Priestman Crane signed 'Westpoint Plant Hire' not exactly an American term or crane !
But apparently it was filmed in UK to look like a US scrapyard .
