Well we couldnt have this forum running without a section for the famous old Akerman excavators!!
These first few photos were kindly sent to me by our American friend & member Ron G and show a Akerman EC200 that he used to operate.

Nice photos.
Ive always had the impression Akerman excavators didnt take much market share here in the UK, even under the ownership of VME and latterly Volvo Construction Equipment and that Akerman excavators were very strong, robust, sturdy machines but lacked some of the cutting edge technology and design of their Japenese and other european competitors.
Since Volvo bought Samsung their current excavators seem to combine the robustness of former Akerman machines with modern Korean technology to produce a very successfull range.

Those H25s were Big & Strong looking machines werent they !!
I wonder if that one is still in use ?? Looks like it is some kind of breakers yard??

Yes it is still in use. I am not sure what kind of attachment it has but it could be some kind of crusher.
