I think this is an old Landsverk. Someone might enjoy the pics?
I saw it the other day at a local farm.

Re: Landsverk?
Mmmm Very interesting old machine Robert
I don't know of any of these excavators making it to the UK ?
Are they found anywhere else in the world ?
I notice that it has a boom slide function very similar to the old JCB Powerslide feature

Re: Landsverk?
IBH, yes that is probably a Lokomo. It seems that my memory played me a trick.
Quite embarrasing that I was wrong about a Scandinavian excavator while my English friends knew better.

Re: Landsverk?
Robban, Great find .. i found the history of the Landsverk most intresting, sort of a cross between a Akerman and a O&K
And Peter the Lokomo looks complicated as it is, and that small dipper and the lift rams to the boom looks as if they would put tremendous strain on the boom were they are positioned.

Re: Landsverk?
Yes I agree!!
It would be great to see more of these rare (to the UK anyway) Scandanavian based machines, ie Landsverk, Lokomo, & Lannen.
Over to our Northern friends!

Re: Landsverk?
Martyn,
Yes they where strange machines, lever looked like an split handle bar for an bicycle.
Boom in the right half and stick in the right.
then one had two buttons on each lever, sliding boom in the right lever and bucket in the right.
Swing one had an pedal for the left foot, an wide pedal with an button on each side at the top end of pedal.
Press the right button for right swing and left for left swing of course,
To stop swing one let go of the button and pressed in the middle of the pedal to brake.
And finally ofr right foot one had an accelerator pedal, they didnt have an lever for the engine rpm's.!?!?!?!
But as years went on they eventually changed over to the conventional two lever arrangement.
The last Lokomo excavator i tried was an model called 326 it was an 1m3 machine.
It was really nice and smooth to operate.
We had quite alot of Lokomo excavators in the Stockholm arear where I live in late -70s and -80s.
But nowdays one just see one here and there at an farmer.
They was know as quite leaky machines and they where know to crack here and there.
