Yes i had filled it up to the correct level according to the manual But the rain made the level to high after a while.
Today Diana had to work for me. She runs so smoothly and fine, Words can not describe how glad i am that the engine seems to be fine after the incident

Compering pictures between your BT and my B i can see yours has more cover in front of the aria where the air filter is located, maybe this is why you don't get water in there Jeremy.

Well Andy you are correct Tony Flint said that this was an issue they had with some machines and the answer was the re-designed engine canopy like on my machine so you have your answer there.

Re: New owner of Hymac 580B
Earlier in this summer i had some of the bigger hydraulic houses changed. One problem during this was the screw connector on the hydraulic pipe that seemed to be soldered.
When dismantling the houses the soldering broke lose, not the thread. The solution was to dismantle the hydraulic pipe and weld the screw connector in place again, red arrow.

Hi Andy, yes he did hear of some engines getting water in the air-filter and becoming damaged through being water locked.
When I was changing the large hydraulic hoses at the bottom of the boom I had the same problem that you did, the solder broke on the one so I got it welded back on at work and it has been perfect ever since.
I have been working on my machine today I will post some photos when I get the chance.

Re: New owner of Hymac 580B
Suddenly the right track stoped tracking.
I removed the cover over the chaindrive and found that the drivesprocket rotates normaly when the hydrauldrive is activated. But the big drivewheel in the trackpads are standing still.
And with tha chain removed i can rotate the shaft by hand. That leeds me to suspect a broken drive shaft.
Where can i get an other one?
