Post #1 by iain106 » Wed Oct 05, 2016 1:36 pm

Hi all i have a nei hymac 580d here in ireland and have a problem. One of the track drives has sprung a leak and leaks even just with the engine running (not moving the tracks).Has anyone had a similar experience? If i need a replacement does a 580c motor fit? thanks

Hi Iain; I will speak to Tony Flint and see what he suggests, can you be more precise about exactly where the oil is leaking from?

Thanks Jeremy the track drive motor on one side is leaking it seems to be leaking from behind it near the bottom of the motor where it is connected onto the track frame however on the outside plate where the chains etc are there is nothing. If it needs replaced can you find out it a 580c motor fits thanks again

Hi Iain, I have spoken to Tony Flint about the problem; he informs me that a seal in the track drive motor has blown, this can be fixed however the track drive motors are not interchangeable with those of a 580C. Hope that helps.

Thanks Jeremy took the track drive motor off this morning and have it on the bench.Yeah was speaking to a plant breaker here said the 580c motor fits but runs at a different speed so no good.Has anyone any experience of replacing the seals is it diy or specialist only?
