Re: Recent I.O.W trip
I usually have an annual trip to the Isle of Wight and sometimes you do find some older equipment kicking around. I'm quite familiar with the church at Godshill, beautiful building it is and in a fantastic setting as well. I'd love to know who owns the Kubota as I'm heading that way myself in March and wouldn't mind getting some pictures too if its just something they keep around? I suppose its small enough to fit in a tool shed or something...don't see a hire company logo on it.
The large grey crawler crane I do believe is an NCK-Rapier 1405D, I've seen it in action before on the river Medina on perhaps the same barge, nice bit of kit that. I bet there's not all that many still left working.

Re: Recent I.O.W trip
I wonder, given the location of the little Kubota, is it owned by the Church/Council and used for gravedigging, especially given the width of that bucket.....

I was wondering the same thing. There's quite a few small tool hire places on the island as well (Yanmar machines are common) but I don't see any hire company on the Kubota which leads me to believe its either a privately-owned machine or perhaps one of the council's fleet. It seems to be a bit of an old machine for a council to use however, so I'm thinking along the lines of private ownership.
There is/was an old Hymac or Whitlock 370 on the island somewhere as well. I saw it once at a farm site just outside of the same town (Godshill). However that was a few years back and I've been unable to locate it again so have no idea what happened to it.
