Scrap Excavators

Post #1 by Jeremy Rowland » Wed Nov 28, 2007 10:22 pm

Hi to all,

The next few pics show the demise of an old Hymac 580C
This machine was one of two that belonged to an engine breakers, the machine was cut for scrap a couple of weeks before the establishment closed.
The first pic shows the machine relatively in tact the machine had been fitted with an electro magnet, the generator of which can be seen mounted on the machine.
The machine was not cut up quickly as you would expect but over a period of about a month, the yard closing a short time later. :(

This second picture shows dis-assembly well underway, the Ford engine is clearly visible.

The fate of the second machine is unknown but lets just say it looked rougher than this one, so one can guess?

Did anyone see scrapheap challenge last week...they had to make a bulldozer but they had a old hymac on the scrapyard and the arm was stretched across the path like some sort of statue. steve

the hymac on scrap heap is just for show,to fill the yard the person that owns it also owned the peljob that was cut up,they also do alot of the transport work
if you can remember the 2005 final with the tractors pulling logs, one was a converted fordson major and the other team had a volvo F12 ,that was filmed on my friends farm
the best bit of the filming was the catering van
knowing less and less about more and more until pretty soon i will know almost nothing about practically everything
