Post #1 by martyn williams » Thu Apr 02, 2009 8:00 pm

Picked up my tinwork for the D4 at K J 's today.Took a couple of photos of the R B VC 30.
I think its the only one running in the UK.Its a runner with only a bit of tlc needed to put it back in use.

Here is a small photo of a later VC 30-20, note the difference it design, this model seems to share most of its supper structure with RB's CH hydraulic cranes.

I note that in the above photos, the VC bears the name 'Ideal Aggregates' on the boom.
Ideal Aggregates operated a sand and gravel pit at Ling Hall, Rugby, Warwickshire which is now owned by Ennstone Johnston and I remember reading somewhere that they bought a (at the time) new VC 30 from R-B International for the site, so it could well be the machine seen above.

Hello IBH,I think you are right. There seems to be a lot of interest in this machine. K J's may be getting a few phoncalls on it.
I had a good look around the machine. It has a Cat engine,to put this machine back into work would not take much.A good service and some cab work is all thats needed.
Would look good at Threlkeld
