Taken a couple of years ago at the old Brymbo steelworks near Wrexham this Komatsu PC 340 was loading a small fleet of ex McAlpine CAT D350 bendys. Main earthmoving/coaling contractor was Scottish Coal. The fill material was being used to infill an old lagoon.

Ha ha !! That sounds familiar Joe, I used to do the same and pop down to our local park to watch some great lads who were digging for a new sewer system, they were travelling men down from the Oldham area the firm was called Queghan Construction and they had a Priestman Mustang 220 on the dig and a Cat 955L doing the backfilling.
I used to go to the shop for them to buy their supplies of Steak & Pototoes take it all back to the caravans then they in return used to let me have some time in the seat of those great machines!! Ahhh great old times!! Wish I'd kept the old photos
Sorry to be off topic Argie

Re: Komatsu PC340
Not sure if anyone ever saw the beach recharge operation at Newbiggin, I went up there a few times to see the excavators at work. In keeping with the PC340, they had one of those as well as a smaller PC210LC Advance (what does Advance mean exactly?). Both excavators were equipped for rock handling applications.
Look out that window, Eden isn't burning. Its burnt.

Muckshifter, were you working on the site or did you visit it?
That reminds me, there are some vintage tractors on "display" next to the RNLI boathouse, I'd like to contact the owner at some point and see if I could take a look at the tractor with loader attached.
