Tried that too but doesn’t come up with a spec, I know it just says JCB special transmission oil in the manual, could anyone recommend one to use for a 1987 machine?

Morris Terrain CT10 is the correct equivalent to JCBs Special stuff. Any that I know of with the Sychro Shuttle transmission have standard ATF Dextron 11.

Ah ok, thanks for the info on that one, how can you tell if a machine has a synchro shuttle? I’m pretty sure mine has that, with the manual 4 speed to select gear first then just forward/reverse on the stalk.

That sounds right. Some later options dispensed with the gear lever and had an electrically controlled power shift operated by the collar on the shuttle stalk.

Oh I see. I have found some oil for a decent price and was wondering on peoples opinions if it would be suitable, I have also included a photo of the stalk set up. Any help is appreciated on this

You have Synchro Shuttle as the stalk is a switch that operates solenoids on the top of the transmission. The older models with Borg Warner torque converter had a long, near vertical lever that operated a cable to mechanically move a valve for f/n/r. That oil will be fine too...

Just wondering if there is anything I’ve missed or worth looking at on this. Managed to change the lip seal on the gearbox and also the filter which needed a clean, also replaced with new gasket, also seen the transmission gears which looked fine, I presume I may have to drain the transmission oil cooler at the front of the machine to get any residual oil out as so far drained around 12 litres. See photos below

Did you get it checked from some reliable heavy equipment mechanic and how bad is the leak is it constant or just while on work
