Hey all,
Got home from work earlier and to my surprise there was an excavator in a field behind my house, looks like they're preparing to dig the new sewer lines. Permission was granted a year or so back to cram, literally cram 114 house on such a small field behind my house, well almost my back yard! I've heard they're taking off a meter off the highest slopes on a cut and fill kind of job, the field is so uneven. They maded the entrance to the site this morning. They were unloading a lorry this afternoon, taking of these metal supports you have in deep trenches, can't remember for the life of me what they are called?? Will be able to post pictures of all the progress seeing as I don't have anywhere to travel. Here are some pictures of the job so far!

Re: Work on new housing estate
Ah! Of Course, trench boxes! 1300? definately not mate, it was 130 odd but now it's 114 or something close, people around werew complaining they don't want windows facing their houses so they've had to turn them side on with no windows which has caused fewer houses to be built. It's not such good idea to build on that land, it's very unstable and floods badly in the middle of it, also they will have to pile it or pin it somehow so our house and those on my street, don't slide and end up in the new houses front room!

Get plenty of before photos of the site and surrounding roads, foot paths, etc as well as adjacent property boundaries and especially your house and garden if they are working close to it for any future damage claims if they are having to put in retaining walls or piles near to your house. Note any existing cracks in paths and Walls etc.

Re: Work on new housing estate
Since my last post, there's been two more JS240's arrive along with another small dumper and a telehandler, very busy today as they have everything marked out and starting to strip the field, here are some of the pics of the progress. There are a couple of videos on youtube too.
