leaks

Post #1 by d4c24a » Sun Sep 28, 2008 10:11 am

we done a job earlier this year in maidenhead ,it involved laying 1200 metres of 315 watermain
with new fire hydrants , flow meter , and links to existing watermains
when it came to testing and commissioning the main it would not hold a pressure test of 16 bar water pressure :(
we narrowed it down by shutting valves and started to excavate the 4 possible joints that could leak ,on digging out the last joint a tee to a flow meter we found the problem it was a flaw in the casting of the tee :o and not our workmanship :D
a few pictures
cheers graham

Hello Graham
Have you ever got a soaking whilst working on a water main job? 16 bar is pretty high pressure.

hi craig yes i think these tee,s are made in brazil :dizzy: word is we are changing to gps pipe rather than uponor
martyn i have got a bit wet once or twice  16 bar is for testing ,normal working pressure on that main would be around 5-6 bar
