I am sorry to hear that. We had a discussion about that a few weeks ago on Maskinisten. The situation is the same in Sweden. I am lucky having a small digger that can be refueled from 20 liter plastic cans.
Here is an idea:
Put a big can or a tank marked "Diesel" somewhere but it should contain water with just half an inch of diesel on top. Less density will make the diesel float on the water and that will give the air inside the tank the right smell.
But when they siphoon out the diesel they will only get water and hopefully they will not notice the difference before the water is in their own tank.
Watch your diesel

I had some fuel nicked out of my Fordson standard at a rally about 10 years ago, they thought it was petrol but they drained the tvo tank. They also dumped about thirty fridges in the show field a few years later.

You know what i would do if i caught them.[quote]I,d put um in a field and bomb the Bastar*,s .
I know its no laughing matter having your machine recklessly damaged just for a bit of Diesel,Imagen if your an owner operator with the added expense of repairing items on the machine and the inconvenience of the down time involved.
