I got some nice pics of the 385 and RH120 at the Foxcovert site, i was lucky enough to be working nearby for a couple of weeks and would take my lunch break up at the Foxcovert site with my trustly SLR ! I will see if i have any digital photos which i can attach.

What you operating up at the new site, i will look of for you the next time i am up there? That young Mr Banks as you put it was a bit of a grumpy sod, i would have been buzzing having all that new machinery about if i were him!

Come on tctractors spill the beans on the Stokey operator!

The Stokey driver I had a right old set to with , was "Alan Blain", only a few weeks later there was an article about this chap driving his Stokey Chariot in Earthmovers, I don't buy this mag as its to full of crap about having "your Ticket" and all that high vis load of #@??@cks that makes me sick.
tctractors

HI MIke,can you snap some pics of the scrapers please and does Fenton Coleton still run any D8 and boxes?
P.S,once worked with a very nice D9N operator of Stokey's called Gerry Onions.A real professional pilot who looked after his tractor and could put it to work.

Hi Mike, sorry to hear about the lay off, what's your job?.
P.S saw Manghan Shaws scrapers and dumpers flatten Shotton Collierypit heap in the 1970's.
I also have some newspaper cuttings of my dad working for A F Budge in the 70's.One was showing some 627's/631's at Berry Hill pit heap in Stoke and another clipping shows the 631's/D9 and D8 and 825 compactor at Trimdon colliery.
Hope you get working soon mate :)
I've just remembered,I lived in the small village of Shotton Colliery for a couple of weeks back in 1998 ish.Had no work for my D8's and was doing some holiday cover for a chap called P Brennon Plant (Irlam,Manchester).I was on a D7H LGP working at Seaton Carew????.It was near a big powerstation and the town sold the best fish and chips in the WORLD
It's a small world.....

Spent a couple of hours up at the Shotton site today, i managed to get some nice shots of the D8L and the scrapers unloading and some nice 740's as well

I made the school boy error of not checking my camera bag and assumed i had my digi camera already in, i managed to get a roll of film used up which i am hoping to get developed tomorrow, i will get a couple of scraper photos posted soon, i'll start a new thread with them so watch this space!

I noticed there were a couple of excavators in the distance and presumed one was you in the 320 rob, i was going to wander down and get some pics of the Colton 345C but it was too hot to trudge all the way down there!

Yes i was a little shocked to say the least when i heard i was being made redundant on friday. I am a building surveyor by trade but always longed to work in mining or quarrying, fingers crossed something will crop up soon, in the meantime i can enjoy the sunshine and visit sites with my camera

I know Seaton Carew quite well, its a nice stroll along the beach on a sunday afternoon and is an excellent cure for hayfever! I also lived about 5-6 miles from Trimdon in a town called Ferryhill and also West Cornforth.

Will drop a line on here Rob the next time i am visiting Shotton!
