Is there any old ex employees of this company from the early days that visit this forum? P & H used to specialise in top soil strip & reinstatement particularly on cross county pipeline contracts. They also dug ditch & laid pipe, they particularly got involved in land drain cut off headers & re instate, again mainly on pipelines (as their name would suggest) they often did the fencing on this type of contract, both temporary & permanent. They owned a fair bit of their own kit including chain diggers for continuous flexible header drain work. They worked as far away as Dundee, Norfolk, all areas of Wales and down Cornwall! The Company is still going strong, based in Manchester and still working mainly on pipeline contracts.
