The company based at Harlow Common. You dont seem to see much about them, but I remember they ran a lot of CAT's and other big plant plus a lot of 8wheelers

Hi john i used to work on pryors on and off back in the early ninetys and in 2002 for a while they have got rid of a lot of kit they mormally run digger dumptrucks still got the blades but they dont run a fleet off d8 and boxes now think they got one when i was there they had the d9 s and the 637 scrapers but sadly them days have gone the company aint as big as what it was and the money aint much still today still got a few mates on there though on diggers and blades my father was a d8 and box man on pryors for years to when muckshifting was at its peak the good old days!

i dont believe this.....ive just been reading an Earthmovers article that said Pryors and Kelston Sparkes are one of the elite few that still run scrapers.....and i didnt know either of them did haha

Hello nicky yes your right pryors did run a D8L and converted box for afew years also they ran a couple of D9 s they converted a 637 box as well to run behind one of the D9G s awsome site it was watching it work , as i was also in the same pit working we was stripping the overburden off and digging out the ballast in fairlop walters hainult in essex a few years ago my dad was on the D9 at the time he was a scraper and box man on pryors for a few years . i think i ve got some photos of it working that i took i ll have to have a look for them .

Hi lads great pics of roxwell i did abit of work there when the cranes where quiet its a company called frank lyons that does the muckshifting in there now.

hello cranky i used to work for frank lyons about 5 years ago i was also in roxwell we were digging a new rubbish cell i was on a 30 ton kobelco digger at the time , mostly london blue clay so a good dig . i was also in there beforehand for c j pryors about 11 years ago digging out ballast driving a cat 330 with a couple of volvo A30 dumpers a good little job it was at the time and nice and local.
