i remember that thread it had some great story's and pictures :thumbs_up: ,its a shame it was not saved when the board changed :(
it even had a fictitious scraper fleet operator that yellowiron sussed out :lol:

These photos were taken at the British Sugar Factory in Bury st Edmunds Suffolk when the earthworks had just started for the new packaging plant (late Sept 1980)

Wyatts yard at Snetterton - I think these date form the mid 80s but the Cat 631 had Phellan Plant on it so may be a later photo.

This thread bought back memories, remember when Phelans were working on dualling the A11 from Thickthorn to Wymondham, and had just bought the largest Akermann in the country to work on it.
To the OP, Lilleys went bust as well whilst working on the southern bypass. There was a guy from Long Stratton called Lilley who was a concrete contractor who was in the local paper telling everyone he was srtill trading because he had no connection with Lilleys who were from up north I think
