Had a phone call tonight to tell me that the magneto is ready for my machine.So will be up the yard next Monday to coax the donkey into life.

:D Hi Martyn, i will be watching your progress with interest, reason being i purchased a D4 last year ser no. 7J8714SP which i reckon is around 1942/43. I have not picked in up yet.Has been in the shed for approx 30 years, just had to have it :thumbs_up:

The donkey engine is now running.Cleaned the fuel lines and carb.Fitted the overhauled mag.Engine running great.Back up on Wednesday to service the machine and carry out a few repairs.The donkey engine was last run 12 years ago.

Been up on the D4 today.Removed the fuel tank for a good steam clean.Also changed the fuel filters.Its surprising that the engne ran ok with the state of those filters. :dizzy:

:D Hi Martyn, still have not picked mine up yet. Glad to see you are making good progress. Are the fuel filters still available? Just thinking filter wise since my crawler has been stood for so long, Im thinking i might have donkey engine probs :cry: Anyway i must pick it up!!!!!!!!!!

Yes John,filters are still available from Finning along with oil filters and governor drive belt.If you need part numbers let me know.

Had another day on the D4, gave it a good service and carried out a few repaires.The donkey clutch is freed off and works fine.Just another adjustment required next time up the yard.Will be sorting out the hydraulic hoses and dozer pins.
