Mark most oil suppliers would be able to recommend an oil based on the original manufacturers specs. I would not have thought that it would be too much of a problem to get a workshop manual; I think they fitted those BMC engines into the old Sherpa vans so perhaps a manual for one of those might cover what you need?

What model case is it? I can't make any promises but you never know, there might be one out there for previewing on the net.

Still looking for a copy of a "cheap" manual, I'll try again tomorrow.

Info on the Uniloader 1830 seems pretty scarce as well; about one of the better links I found was one indicating they originally came with a Renault TR688 engine.

P.S. Sorry to hear about your broken fingers.

Just a thought here Mark; you may be able to get away with the liners being honed? Its a long shot but perhaps worth an enquiry?
