Glad to see it progressing, you can still get piston rings,head gaskets and valves etc for the donkey engines.Along with block to donkey gaskets and top water seal ring.
Keep posting the photos of the restoration.

Hi Martyn, do you know the pt no. for the upper water seal on the donkey? cannot see it for looking in my pts book, and numbers for the oil filters, it just speeds the job up when ordering as you know. So far the heads seem to be water tight, so i will go ahead and do the valves etc.........................i think??????????????

Seal is 5B7780
Filter 7B7775 full flow is 9F6430 These numbers may have changed but Finning will cross match for you.They are available next day off the shelf from you local depot.
The seal is expensive, I would take the old filter as pattern to make sure its the correct one.

It took a lot of hard work, as this type of machine is hard to rub down for a repaint.It was made harder as I have to do it all in the open.
The TD6 is next in line but will be given a good workout on a plough at the end of the year,if I can get it going first
The D2 is due for a tidy up as this was last done in 1996.Closely followed by the Fordson N for the same treatment.Its last overhaul was in 1981.

Hi Martyn, its slow but sure , the starting engine is now ready to go back on. Mag is sparking sparks, and we have compression after grinding stems and valves. Carb has been a bit prob but Fenland tractors came to the rescue. A question to ask Martyn or anyone, what is the thread and size of the drain taps on the starting engine heads.

she looks great ,a friend of mine in ireland has one the same he repainted it in the old cat yellow .we went to collect it and had to tow it around the field with the tractor unit to get it going,when ray did get it started the man he bought it from started changing his mind about selling it after ray spent 2 days freeing the engine they are a nice little dozer you done a good job on the restoration well done.

Fired up the D4 today,had not run it for months.The donkey started second pull.Fired up the diesel after a few minutes.
Wish I had a shed to keep them in
