Ok! Then give the Drag&Drop a try! It is even more convenient!

There is a link "First unread post" when you look at a topic.

The join-date is still available in the avatar-area at dvery post.

Thanks Holger. Yeah, neither of the stock standard old browsers I use display anything in the avatar area. edit Solved, later on with qt web - it does show details in avatar ... suggests any browser not supporting various html 5 tags, in this case, the dd tag (in its NEW definition as per html5, as it is different in html 4, as such any html 4 only browser is going to have trouble here.) Still not able to go to first unread post with Qtweb and just directed to unread thread with pages Old opera is having some cookie issues with the new top line of links just added to the board index, and merely wants me to log in even though I am. Firefox works fine with these new links however, so it is an old opera issue. In the how to section, no permission to view. Again, could be this these old browsers.

Maybe Fixfox might take me to the first unread post, but opera takes me to the first page of a thread. I will test old firefox in a minute for this.

Edit Just tested, sadly firefox has the same result as per link. The new post was this thread and the link given in new posts is

Forum layout

No mention of where in the thread. (ie no &p=) However with firefox when I hover the pointer over the link, I get a popup with the first and last post of the thread.

Code: Select all

There is no space in the above above between ]h or anywhere else even though it looks like it.

Paul, looking at the other thread, I think it might be the youtube link you are having trouble with, has https and not http. Often you can just use http as the https asks for a secure protocol in the browser. In other words just delete the s so it reads http://

Some youtube clips though WILL NOT load ever as for whatever reason, the author of it has stipulated via settings that it is best (only) viewed on a Bertram* Plus browser or your ISP is in some city within the US.

*[Bertram lol - refers to http://jbash.velvet.com/peeves/bertram.html]

Also just cut out everything after the video number. ie & and everything after it
