Just obtained my first digger. 1977 JCB 3II.
Never had any previous interest in this sort of thing but had to get one for the land and now love it.
Most things seem to work "almost" ok, Intermittent power steering and struggling to move the back acter. Not doing anything with it until I have checked levels etc etc but even finding the engine oil dipstick too 20 minutes!
Total novice (read idiot) with these things so any help, advice, tips, tricks, bodges appreciated.
Have downloaded the pdf workshop manual, operators manual etc and they have been massively helpful.
Currently struggling to see the hydraulic fluid level as the sighting tube is old and opaque. May post a HELP if I don't get anywhere today.

David

Hi
Not been on here long myself but there are some real gurus on here. Have learnt a lot from reading the old threads, look in loaders / backhoes and in technical.

Thanks Tim.
There certainly is masses of good stuff here, and knowledgeable people. I'm still at the stage of hitting everything in sight when I move a lever! Think I will be paying a visit to Diggerland (just down the road) to get some practice!
