Hello all,

My names Andrew and live in West Yorkshire, married with two daughters. A year ago I came off plant operating and now work for an insurance company as a Surveyor. This is a good job with low hours although no skill required.

Only problem is I cant get the plant thing out of my system and keep feeling the need to get back in the saddle. My dad drove heavy plant and I think it must be some mutant gene passed on ?. If I could find a reputable firm and a good rate I might go back, although my wife would go 'ape'.

I drove dozers and excavators (although prefer dozers) for various firms in Yorkshire. Whilst machine driving I had some good experiences and a few bad.

I would like to find some where I can get in some holiday cover or weekend work to keep my hand in.

Good luck with your quest for relief/weekend work in the saddle!!

Don't think I would ever be happy doing anything else to be honest ;)

Hi,
My name is Ron, I live in the Kansas, USA. I work for a small heavy dirt contractor, running mostly Volvo's A25C ADT, and L120C Loader. I have had the opportunity to run D3 t0 D5 dozers (Cat, Kamatsu, New Holland), Motor-Graders, Scrapers (John Deere 760s Elevator), Case (Backhoe-front loader 980, and Skidsteers), Tekahuchie Skidsteers, Boomag Sheepsfoot, Ingersol-Rand Smooth Vib rollers, Boomag 100MPH, and straight dump and water trucks, and then a couple of small Cat, Volvo trackhoes.

I stumbled upon your forum searching the net for info on Volvo ADTs, and wheel loaders.

On the side I've had a hobby of videography and photography. I'm a site-administrator for Corel's User to User Web Board, a forum of volunteers that use various Corel digital video and image editing programs, such as the former Ulead apps (VideoStudio, MediaStudio Pro, PhotoImpact).

I'm a real newbie heavy equipment operator, only having about 1 yr under my belt. Prior to that I spent over 20yrs as a law enforcement officer.

Interesting forum for sharing information, videos and pics of construction...

My Volvo A25C I load and run
