Hi all!
I´m Luis from Spain. I´m the proud owner of an old JCB 3D MK2, which has been abused and still is (was... ) working.
She was bought in 1999, lots of play, lots of oil leaks (lots means LOTS, liters!), motor totally worn out, LOTS of thick black smoke...
But she was working. Last month she passed away. It´s a minor break, (broken iny. pump), but will not be repaired.
Good news are there is a new "baby" (if you can call baby sth born in 1980), a 3D MK3 comming. What a great improvement!. Torque converter, hydraulic brakes, no major leaks, power under the right foot....wow! And... MK2 is similar, so, lots of spares available (we plan to keep the mk2 as donor, if anything is still working... )
So... I will enjoy a lot this forum and you will suffer the dumb questions of a f***ng spaniard. Be warned!
Yours,
Luis (Lewis)
PS: As you can find, I´m very good destroying English....
Greetings from Spain

Re: Greetings from Spain
What a warm welcome!!!. Many thanks!
A bit about me:
34 Y old, married, 1 baby (6 months)
Mechanical and Energy Engineer.
Grown in a farm (Brother, Father, and sometimes, when is needed, me still in business.)
I´ve been service engineer for Rolls-Royce Bergen Engines for 4 years. (Engines from 4.000 to 10.000 HP)... Quite big. I´ve been working INSIDE an oil sump. Some numbers: Bore: 350 mm, Stroke: 500 mm. 750 rpm, v-12 gas engine, 5,500 KW electrical output (genset)
Now I work part time as Engineer for Spanish goverment and part time for my own little engineering company, focused on energy projects and electric vehicles.
As I have a lot of hands on experience, I´m the "responsible" of fixing anything broken at my home, includind weldind and engine renovations.
By now we own 3 tractors, a 2000'Fendt 711 Vario, a 2005 kubota 5700ME and a 1970 Ebro 160 (99% of a fordson major)
And... of course a Jcb 3d2 and the comming 3d3.
