When I started with Cat in the mid sixty's they were experimenting with a big mining truck that was basically a large hopper suspended and articulated between two power units. I believe that a couple of prototypes were built and put two work with a mining company but the project was not continued on a commercial basis. Then there was the Euclid/Terex three axle truck (Titan?) that I believe still exists as a static landmark in some town in the US.
