KOMATSU HD 785 DUMPTRUCKS
Re: KOMATSU HD 785 DUMPTRUCKS
BANKS have had 1 785 on demo n it leaves the CAT 777 B D & F going up the ramps side by side so they might run the other job with KOMATSU trucks & faseshovels ex

Re: KOMATSU HD 785 DUMPTRUCKS
I think the new Komatsu 785 has quite a bit more power than the Cat 777's including the F series, i remember seeing a introduction brochure from Komatsu with the new trucks stats and it looked impressive compared to the 777's! Will see if i can find out what the engine output was.
How are the new 777F's doing at Shotton?
Regards
Michael

Re: KOMATSU HD 785 DUMPTRUCKS
Thats interesting, i looked at the "new market introduction" pdf i got a while ago on the Komatsu HD785-7 and though it claims the Komatsu has 1178 HP (net) as per Hammermans figures it claims the 777F only has 940 HP (net). Thats a fair difference between 1016 and 940 HP, i wonder if Komatsu has tried to play down the actual HP figure of the 777F or if cat have since increased the power to their trucks!
I would like to know how if that extra power has an impact on the all important fuel consumption !!!!!!!!!!!!

952 net bhp for the 777F.http://www.uk.cat.com/cmms/14151733?x=7
On the Komatsu web site,it only gives 1178 bhp,no net or gross bhp.
Watching the 2 new 775F`s at Bayston Hill, they dont seem to be struggling hauling 55-60 odd ton load up from the bottom of the quarry. And having been for a ride in them, they certainly shift along on the level fully loaded. So they must all have enough bhp for the job.
Maybe is just so when sales reps go calling, they can say our trucks are more powerfull etc etc,& Komatsu may get the upper hand on cycle timings.
