771D Before and after.

This is what happens when you send a truck into the steel works for a couple of weeks to cover some repairs....

Was used carrying hot material as you can see by the discolor in the skip sides.

The after pics are after a session on the steam cleaner by the way :arrrrgh:

Time for another shotblast and paint.

Surely the hot material would weaken the strenth of the steel....no?

That would depend on several factors but the tipper body may be made out of a material like Hardox in which case the heat would have no effect.

If the truck is going into these applications on a permanant basis the body is lined with Hardox, in this case it was only in for a couple of weeks and wasnt suppose to be hauling hot material, they even denied it when it came back but the evidence speaks for itself!

Sounds like the case of " yeah we greased it regularly" when you tell them all the grease points are dry! Some transformation, did it get other work than a freshen up
