According to the Finning Website Scottish Coal have just purchased 10 new Cat 785D Dump Trucks for the new Broken Cross site. The deal is costing 23 million and the truck can haul 136t!
I thought that they were sticking with the cat 777F to match up with the 5 new Liebherr coal shovels. They obviously need something a bit bigger to keep up!

The first parts are schedule to arrive in our workshop in Hamilton in the next couple of weeks for assembly/testing before going to site. The Liebherrs actually have had their buckets de-rated (on the backacters anyway)to prevent spillage over the sides of the 777s/Tr100s, and are filling them in 3 buckets, so probably fill the 785 in 4 good passes

I believe these trucks have come out of a deal that fell over in Dubai for a contractor there, my guess they would have been going on the Arabian Canal job.

I spoke to the lad briefly this weekend and they are all getting, have been, cut up!
He was saying they have been moving some RH120s around as the new Liebherrs come in so I can only presume that the O&Ks are going to replace the Demags
Back up in a few weeks when the 785s start to appear, so will hopefully find out a bit more.

Your a lucky man getting onto that site, I've tried a few times even through the Castelbridge guy that come sinto the workshop but no go.
Sad news re the Demags, thankfully I got some good pics of the hoe before it got the chop
