Ive just finished reading an article in this months Earthmovers about the RH 200 at the shotton site and was wondering if anyone had any information on these new caterpillar 789`s.

The 789's at Shotton are the 789B's which have come from the Delhi site along with the RH200. I think there is only 1 777F up there at the moment working alongside 777D's, the other F series trucks went to work in Scotland.

From the way i looked at the article in Earthmovers i assumed they meant brand new 789`s. The terex RH 120 E looks a nice piece of kit though.

Those 789's must have shifted some dirt in their time, what hours are on those machines?

Sadly i dont like the look of the extended bonnets on the 785's/789's for the sound supression, it makes a smart machine look ugly!

Have not read the earthmovers article yet but there must be some muck shifted at Shotton with an RH200 and 4 x RH120's working there. I will have to get up there soon with my trusty 35mm camera!

If im right i remember seeing two television programmes about RJB/BANKS Mining with Cat 789`s. The first one was Classic Plant (trucks) with the late John Peel and the second was Massive engines with Chris Barrie. Those 789`s must have done a fair few hours. I hear Caterpillar have a 789 F coming out soon.

Heard a rumour from the cat fitter that came out to my machine today that banks could be buying 2 or 3 new 785's
