Great collection of photos mark
Not something you can often get good photos of, as attempts to snap them when driving past in a contraflow unless a passenger in a bus are usually unsuccessful.
Interesting spreader machine - usually see them on surface dressing works at one time.

Thanks for your comments.
I was lucky enough to be standing on the over bridge, with a long lens! but it was bl**dy cold!!
The sweeper was unusual and a new one on me but then as Nick says it usually lives alot further south.

Sweeper is a Beam, sold in UK via Johnston Sweepers. Common on airport work where any rogue debris on the runway could spell disaster.... http://www.johnstonsweepers.com/page_view.asp?InfoID=333
