Just picked this beauty up

Plate states 1974 and it's powered by a Hatz single cylinder diesel engine

engine fires up, the cup and cone clutch is worn but still works, it's just a steering wheel I really need help with getting a hold of, looks like it's 0.865" with 49 splines, could this be a standard fit, I haven't tried my JCB wheel on it yet.

Rob.

Hello All,
I worked for Eddison Plant for about 6 months in 1970. They were big into rollers and Greens made a roller exclusively for Eddisons.
They were 10 ton three pointers badged Eddimatic. They were designed spcificaly for Eddison to their own spec. I worked on one or two, they had Ford 4D engines, Torque converter drive and Brockhouse power shift transmission. They were sollidly built in the true roller tradition but the Brockhouse trsnsmission had its problems.
There were a lot of them about in the 1960's. Anyone got any photos??
Fred

According to the RRA list there is just one known listed in Leicestershire but i've not seen one yet, so sorry no photo.

PS. the RRA list has about 60 Greens IC engined rollers on it.

Hi ya

i have 2 Greens DRX Rollers one from 1947 and the other from 1948. There is a picture of me in this months Classic Plant and Machinery Magazine taken at Canford Park arena. This is the 1948 roller with a Petter AVA2 in it, and has wide rolls for rolling runways and cricket pitches. The 1947 is in original condition with a Fowler 2 cyl engine, and is set up for tarmac.
