I'm currently working onsite with a Caterpillar D6N LGP from Sirius Remediation,
Whilst having a brief chat to the operator today I noticed as I jumped off the track that it had a"Diff Steer" decal on the engine cover, obviously it's for the steering but what is it actually and what (if any) other types of dozer steering is there?
I'm hoping to try and get a quick lesson in operating a dozer and fulfilling my lifelong dream of driving one!

Diff steer maintains power to both tracks during a turn. The alternative is clutch and brake where drive is disengaged to the inside track for gentle turns and then brake applied to stop the track for sharper ones.
