Re: Pipe layer to dozer??
Could I ask who converted?? the Ex Kelston Sparks D9H, it was the highest Serial No tractor in the U.K. it was bought in a Sunday morning deal with a load of other kit D8K, Grader, towed rollers etc, We only went to look at a CAT463G box and came away with everything but the Box, I re-worked the D8K and made it work well, this tractor was sold into Wales, when being told that the D9H was sold to Roger Brookhouse to become a Fishing Rod (Boom) it felt like putting down a Good Horse, as it will never push owt' again, in my mind its what they are built to do.

Hi Mark, We dont currently have anything in Australia, good photo of Heanor/D9, as for an answer to Tony, the Kelston Sparkes D9 is still a dozer to date, she is a beauty, maybe Roger will hold her as she is a good specimen.

Good news to hear the D9H is still sporting a blade, the total Pipe-Layer fleet of Roger Brookhouse stands at 345 units according to Rogers mathmatics, in anyones mind this is a lot of Iron to polish???

Hi Tony,
It sure keeps us out of mischief, as for the polishing we would need a handfull of plane tickets to get round them all!!!.

Re: Pipe layer to dozer??
Back in the late 70's I was a line inspector for CAT in the gear factory. Somehow, a bunch of bull gears got messed up and had cracks in the tip of the teeth. The big shots stood around for days trying to figure out what to do since some were already in tractors out on the lot(D8's I think). Anyway, the final answer was to use the whole run up in pipelayers.
