A 637C I was on hire to Crouch Mining many years ago,and my second D8H 68A 2816 I bought out of Coalville similar time.

A 68A 5000 series we looked at but couldn't afford and my fathers JCB 423 shovel back in the 80's

I think we had one of those 432's at British Sugar Peterborough. It had a blade instead of a bucket, with a rubber edge for pushing beet into the flumes on the flat pad. Good loader. JCB did get some things right.

I think it was an allright machine Brian.
Diesel tank was a problem though

Some pics this week.
Have been steady busy since early May with no dramas. Will be finished though soon unfortunately as we were supposed to be moving up top to start stripping,but getting grief about noise.........blah blah.....
I've put movement orders in for end of May to bring the old girls home.
However, I'm currently mooching for a bit of scraper work,so I'm sure they'll ride again this season.

The need to buy a newer D8 has arisen,so,something had to go as I can't just keep collecting yellow stuff and then leaving them lying around for my wife to trip over them.
So,the D5 has gone.
Simply put.....the most profitable tractor I have ever owned.
Anyway,Richard Littler of Littlers Machinery is tracking down a nice D8N or D8R for me .This will likely come from East coast USA or Europe.
