Re: Some sheduled maintenance
Good job there Nick,
Could have been worse, could have been lying in a lake under there.
Worn that T shirt, but just looking at your excelent "Bodgit & Scarper" Pics., reminds me I 'm deffinitely far too old for that sort of thing now.
Good Luck.
Fred

More to the "point point" what has caused that damage, was it a bit of circlip or bearing let fly??

Re: Some sheduled maintenance
A bearing broke up and a few of the balls went down through the gears. She still drove but she had a clonk!
So far I'm upto £5K in bits some gen and some non gen without the VAT!
Not enough maintenance and unlucky.........plus in the Cat bible it says replace all of the bearings at 7000 hours!!! Uh oh

Yeah it says a lot of things in the bibble, sorry bible! Think you were unlucky with that, ive seen 18,000 hours on a trans and nothing too drastic, also seen 4000 hours and destroyed.
Bit of TLC and you'll be away in no time, dont scrimp on piston seals and you will be laughing. (unfortunately not all the way to the bank)
