Post #1 by d4c24a » Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:08 pm

we moved to a new job today to move water main so a conveyor belt can go under the road to a new dig at a gravel pit
this was making a noise and minus its stack it had managed to melt the spot lights

Hi Graham
I had a drive on one of these at SED some years ago and found it a real piece of crap to drive-the problem is that it was designed for youngsters used to computer games with wee short levers. After five minutes my arms and hands were aching with what I think they call tendonitus. When looking for a dozer I met one of the Fiat-Hitachi salesguys who warned me to avoid them at all costs, not eneogh R&D had been carried out by Fiat, I ended up with a Fiat-Hitachi FD175 a much better machine.

Go Back surely you must be joking, I have driven ex65's and a cat D6R as well as a Liebherr 634 and the Fiatallis FD 175. The ex65 and the Liebherr are two excellent machines followed by the FD175 with the Cat next followed by the D180. Notice if you will I rate the FD175 way above the D180 which personally I wouldn't give house room to.

The problem with a lot of people is that they all follow the herd-well I ain't falling into that category, maybe some of you dyed in the wool cat guys can tell me why you would buy a D6R lgp over a Komatsu D65PX when everybody knows the Cat is too nose heavy to work in soft ground compared to the 65px???????
