Hi, Folks.
The 631's were the 2-wheel prime mover version and the 630's were the 4-wheel prime mover version of the scrapers. I think they both pulled the same bowl at 35 cu. yds heaped. There was a 632 version that used a 38 cu. yd bowl behind a 4-wheel prime mover. How-wevver, at that time - early 1960's - there was also the 641A, the 650, the 651A and the 660A, maybe even the 666A. The 650, 651 and 660 all needed at least two D9G's pushing in tandem to get the best out of them and that was why Buster Peterson designed and built the DD9G's or 'quad-track' D9G's.

I suspect that if you turned the same numbers of 657's and D11T's loose on that job, plus maybe 15 or 20 of these jiggers - see about 1.04 in the first video below or the whole of the second video - in place of the towed scrapers, you could be somewhat under half the time to do the job.

Now just who built that jigger and for why? And it AIN'T Cat. It may be Cat parts but it ain't BUILT by Cat.

A curious mind wonders if any of you know.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
