Ransomes MG5 dozer total rebuild

Post #1 by Whitlock 505 » Sun Jan 28, 2018 8:44 pm

Hi All

Thought I'd post these photos of a Ransomes MG5 me and my father in law did in the summer, total rebuild, there wasn't a part fixed together when I picked it up and the transit was filled back to front, gave us some headaches rebuilding and a few "that's not right take it back apart" rebuilt from an old ransomes mg 5 diagram, new oil seals all round, new lift pump seal, magneto overhaul, new exhaust, new bolts, each track split down and rubber seals and trackpads powder coated by me, the dozer blade is off a snowplough for a quad and I made all the frame with the help of some mates from the local quarry.

Real stoke of luck was the only guy to supply spares for Ransomes lived 20 mins down the road in Laleston, Bridgend, again a labour of love and a pleasure to work with my father in law an ex RAF fitter
