WOTTIZZITT?????????????????

Post #1 by Deas Plant » Thu Dec 26, 2013 3:07 pm

Hi, Folks.
Can anybody shed any light on wott this jigger might be? I won't post photos due to copyright issues but here are the links to the photos:

To me, the tracks and controls look rather Fowler/Marshall-ish but I can't remember ever seeing either of them with that style 'tin-work'. I might be getting 'blinder' than I thought but I can't see any badges either. (Are the manufacturers THAT proud of their handiwork? LOL.)

A curious mind would like to know.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

As flickr and photobucket have moved to some kind of new format totally unfriendly to older browsers or maybe just me, I have to resolve anything from there manually.

One can usually right click over an image and list the properties or links to address or image. Being a new format these services may have done something to stop that ... I really wouldn't know I don't get too far on my old machine, but it doesn't help that I'm just as "annoyed" wth "stuff" as the guy who penned Bertram

For the older browsers

Edit: I haven't any photo editing software loaded to play with the pic, but I think the last pic shows

C_M_EEO

I've got no idea what that might mean. A bit of photoshoping might reveal a bit more

Well, the badge on the front says
FOWLER
and the shape of the badge is Fowler's trade mark, but I suppose it could have been put on something else [doubt it, though].
I've seen that type of machine somewhere............................................... on a beach dragging boats around ?????????
Why else do you go to the beach??

Hi.
It a Fowler FD3 circa 1946 / 1949. They were powered by a development of the 3cyl Fowler /Freeman - Sanders engine used in pre-war models.
There ws also the four cyl. FD4 which had the same styling but a longer bonnet to accomodate the engine and one extra bottom roller.
