Hi Jeremy,

no problem with a repost. Cant get enuff of this model. Its just perfect, it looks like done with CNC machines, but this guy uses a Proxxon milling machine and turning machine. As far I know he has a parts book of the D11R CD and does hand sketches of all parts and then starts on his equipment. Its just incredible how its made!

Hi Andy,
I dont know if "the joiner" refers to the profession of the woodworker. If so, I think this education is one of the best bases for starting scale modelling. You learn to work with different sorts of wood, plastics, alu, brass, you learn to cut, drill, mill, to glue. You also get a worthfull introduction in the art of varnishing, often THE Archilles heel of a scale model project. My interests in scale modelling were a important cause to choose this apprenticeship. Just 3 month till the end of my re-training and my journeyman's certificate. Cant wait to return home and finish my started projects with all these new expierences.

But yes, I will not compare my efforts with these of this Italian! Still another pair of shoes...

This is fantastic and when I first saw some of the components that this chap had made I jumped to the conclusion that they had been CNC machined, but evidently not, whether they are CNC or convetionally machined they are a work of art in their own right and this guy is a first class engineer fullstop. :claphands:

Think that guy should have researched a little better and made a D11T or utilised the newer 3 bolt roller cap bogies.

When he puts it to work He's gonna have trouble with the roller cap

Also the C32 is better on fuel

Oh yeah, is this the same dude that did the 785 haul truck?
