It's an International 250, based on the TD or BTD 20 (the BTD20 version was rare, but a few were made at Doncaster). The IH numbers referred to the SAE yardage of the bucket, so 100 was 1-yard, 125 was 1.25 yard up to the 2.5 yard 250. The loader version of the TD15 was the 175 loader. Where was this picture taken?

BTD-20 200 SERIES B-20K-3 INTERNATIONAL DROTT SKID SHOVEL

THE 250 WAS US BUILT AND MARKETED AS A STAND ALONE MODEL AND NO LINKS WITH THE UK/USA(B)TD-20 MODELS WITH THE B-20K-3 ATTACHMENTS.

The shovel version of the btd 20 EVOLVED in to the 250 yes,but that machine in the pic had not yet reached the stage of being badged a 250.There were no 250's built at Doncaster.
I'd have a tenner on it that machine in pic is badged a btd 20 and not 250.

Well, if you want to bandy titles, you are right, but to all intents the 250 was a TD20 with attachment. As for stand-alone, the American model was a TD20 skid unit with an extra roller, and rigid frames. The loaders badged TD20 - 200-etc. had an extra roller etc.

Anyway, this unit in the picture has the same arms as a 250 (as far as can be judged from a photo) but whatever the badge says, there are one or two things I noticed, such as the non-IH bucket and the bulge in the lower grill looks suspiciously non-standard. Bigger pump or different engine?

Man, they were brutes, by whatever title. Wish there were more of them over here. Did they ever get a powershift trans, like the small drotts?
